Elgin Community College Theatre announces auditions for
Circle Mirror Transformation

This hilarious and touching script centers on five diverse personalities that make up a community center drama class. As they begin to experiment with often ridiculous acting exercises, tiny personal wars of epic proportions are waged and won. The New York Times called this play by up-and-comer Annie Baker, “absorbing, unblinking and sharply funny.”

AUDITION INFORMATION:
- Please familiarize yourself with the play. Copies of the play are on reserve at the ECC library.
- Actors will audition in groups and read selected scenes during 30 minute audition appointments.
- Rehearsals begin Monday, February 27 and continue Monday through Thursday evenings 7-10 p.m.
- The production opens Friday, April 20 and runs weekends through Sunday, May 6.

AUDITION INFORMATION:
- Auditions will be a mix of improv games, exercises, short scenes with some basic movement. No need to prepare anything else. If you play an instrument that can be easily carried to the audition, bring it and play something. There is a piano in the room as well.
- Please wear comfortable clothes and be ready to move.
- Rehearsals begin Monday, February, 13th and continue Mondays and Wednesdays 12:30-1:45 until the end of the semester.

About the Director: Robert has taught/coached the Improv Ensemble for the second year as Adjunct Faculty member of ECC’s Theatre Department. He received his MFA in Acting from the Theatre School at DePaul University and is currently an Adjunct Faculty member at Chicago’s Second City Training Center. He is also a Teaching Artist with Steppenwolf Theatre and has worked in several venues throughout the Chicagoland area in places such as Redmoon Theater Company, Metropolis School of the Performing Arts, Northbrook Theatre and the Chicago Improv Festival.
